Nate and Erin's journey began at a sourdough bakery and sustainable farm in Pennsylvania, where they quickly bonded over their shared passion for sustainable ingredients and a commitment to building systems that improve the environment. Together, they set out to create a diverse farm, first exploring land in Pennsylvania, then Vermont, before finally finding the perfect spot in Otego, New York where they established Roaming Roots Farm. Roaming Roots Farm is a unique combination of a perennial nursery and silvopasture orchard. The perennial nursery is dedicated to helping others plant trees and grow food for their families, all while sequestering carbon and promoting sustainability. The silvopasture orchard takes a hands-on approach to regenerative farming, with chickens, pigs, and eventually sheep grazing amongst fruit and nut trees. This symbiotic system provides nutrients for the trees, while the trees offer shade and comfort to the animals—truly imitating nature's harmony.
